From design queries to neon longevity, find answers to all your burning questions about neon signs and our offerings.

Traditional glass neon signs are made from glass tubes filled with gas that emits light when electrified. They offer a vintage aesthetic and a warm, distinct glow. However, they are fragile, consume more energy, and can be costly to repair.

LED neon signs, on the other hand, use flexible silicone or PVC tubes filled with small LED lights. They are more energy-efficient, durable, and safer due to their lower heat emission. LED neon also allows for more flexibility in design due to its ability to bend into various shapes and offer a wide color range.

Glass neon signs, while visually striking, are relatively fragile due to the glass tubing. They can break or crack easily under stress, making transportation and handling more difficult. Furthermore, the lifespan of a glass neon sign can be reduced if it's exposed to constant or significant temperature fluctuations.

In contrast, LED neon signs are more robust and durable. They are made of flexible silicone or PVC tubes which can withstand impacts better than glass. They also function well under a broader range of temperatures. This durability, coupled with their longer lifespan, often makes LED neon signs a more practical choice for many applications, especially those that require frequent movement or outdoor use.

If you're on a tight deadline and need your sign in less than 10 business days, we do offer a Rush Order service for an additional fee, moving your sign to the front of the production line. The rush order fee varies depending on several factors including size of the sign, complexity of design, shipping location and date needed.

For glass neon, we always recommend leaving your neon sign turned on 24/7 as it will help increase the lifespan of your sign. For LED neon, you can turn it on or off without causing any damage to the sign.

Once your neon sign is produced, it will take approximately 1-2 weeks for your sign to be delivered. If you need it in a rush, we offer rush delivery for an additional fee.

Once your sign is in production, unfortunately you will not be able to make changes to your sign. But please contact us ASAP if you need to make changes and we will see what we can do.

While LED neon signs have an amazing lifespan
of up to 25,000 hours, standard fluorescent lights only last 8,000–10,000
hours. Apart from this difference, the long life of LED neon signs has various
advantages for businesses.

Firstly, it will reduce the frequency of
replacements, thus minimizing downtime and labor costs associated with changing
bulbs. Secondly, it reduces the disposal of bulbs since there are fewer
instances of discarded ones, hence making the company an environmentally
conscious one. In conclusion, a longer life span for LED neon signs implies
considerable cost savings as well as a more sustainable lighting solution.

Different mounting options are available for
neon signs, with some being more popular than others. When you use strong
screws to wall mount it, then this will provide a safe and permanent solution
that is perfect for solid walls and for exhibits meant to last longer. Ceiling
suspension using chains or wires allows you to get creative with your
placement, especially if dealing with sizeable signs or those designed for
attention from afar.

Special brackets or suction cups can be used for
window displays, which are best suited for attracting pedestrians while also
bringing life to the front of your store. The freestanding ones have a solid
base that conceals wires, making them versatile in case one has an open floor
plan or a temporary exhibition. They also come in handy if you are renting
space and cannot make permanent changes to the building.

Although neon signs are widely available,
their history is not that distant. When French engineer Georges Claude unveiled
the first neon lamp to the public in 1910 in Paris, France, history was made.

This creation brought in a new era of visually
appealing and dynamic displays while also revolutionizing signage technology.

Before neon lights were available as a sign
option, businesses relied on gas-illuminated signs, light bulbs, or
incandescent signs, which were less efficient than neon ones.

These signs provided a major leap forward in
terms of brightness and could be shaped into different forms and letters. This
stunning brightness emanating from these neon signs immediately caught on with
the general public, making them a popular choice for advertisements and
decorations. Their ability to work for long periods without much upkeep also
contributed to their dominance in commercial landscapes.

No, a neon sign is not plasma. Neon signs use neon gas to produce their distinctive glow, while plasma displays use a different technology altogether. Plasma displays typically involve ionized gases and are commonly found in some types of televisions and futuristic lighting displays.

Neon signs are moderately efficient in electricity consumption, varying based on factors like size and complexity. Advances in technology have led to more energy-efficient designs, including LED neon signs available at Best Buy Neon Signs.
